Melissa employs kind, yet firm, methods while teaching your horse to instill confidence and courage on all levels of jumping. Melissa provides jumping programs in the starting of inexperienced horses over fences working with a variety of fence and gymnastics to improve their natural abilities and braveness. Melissa's primary focus in training is with experienced horses to improve their style, way of going and courage.
Melissa employs Dressage fundamentals to build a better balanced and athletic horse for Jumping competition. This is an important foundation no matter what you have planned for your horses future. She uses the building blocks from dressage to further your horse's understanding of what you are asking of them.
Melissa has an uncanny ability to work with horses that have been given up by lesser experienced or less determined trainers. She will help tailor a training program that will reach your horse though patience, understanding and an individual approach to identify your horse's needs. Show Fees
$50 per day Daily Trainer Rate - (Schooling and Rated Shows) to include all trainer rides, client schooling and or full lessons. This fee starts the day the horse leaves for show.
Braiding-Prices will vary depending on contracted Braider. No Braiding for Jumpers.
Tail braiding provided on request. Prices will vary depending on contracted Braider.
Groom Fee - per day/per horse. Final cost of the groom will be split equally between the number of client horses that physically attend the show. Field of Dreams will provide groom who will prep and tack up your horse each day for each class. Groom will also bathe, wrap, stud feet, hand walk, and blanket your horse at the end of each day. Students ALWAYS have the option and are encouraged to groom their own horse.
$10 - Stall & Feeding - per horse, per day. Includes AM cleaning of stall and 1-2 pickings of the stall throughout the day. Also 4 feedings of hay and grain each day. Students ALWAYS have the option and are encouraged to feed and clean their own horse.
Hauling / Trailering - non-commercial, ask for current rates
Shavings - To be billed at cost
Stall Fees - To be paid directly to Show at time of pre-entry
Groom Stall / Tack Stall / Feed Room Fees- (If needed) Total cost to be split equally between the number of client horses attending show
Entry Fees - As per the prize list. To be paid directly to the Horse Show before the first class of the Show.
Hay and grain - If it is necessary to purchase either product during the time of the show, the cost will be split evenly by the number of client horses attending the show. Clients can also bring their own grain and feed.
Accommodation fees - Trainer's housing expenses to be divided by the number of client horses attending show.
Show Attire-Its up to the client/student to provide show clothes/boots/helmet/gloves, we do have some limited show attire that can be used by students for the day/show duration.
